GRAPHIC DESIGN/RETAIL PACKAGE

Competitive Edge can assist clients in the design and preparation of the correct collateral materials and packaging for direct response fulfillment and/or retail. A product package that may be perfect for direct response sales may be inadequate or actually prohibit the product from sale in certain retail stores. The configuration of a product may work well for direct response but eliminate it for consideration by a retailer. Similarly, collateral materials that may fit well in a shipping box for a direct response order may not bundle well in a retail setting.

 

Conversely, expensive packaging that makes the product’s eye appeal work in retail can create problems in the day to day shipping of direct response orders. Products that may be appropriate to send to a direct response client may lack the proper UPC numbering system and prevent the product from sale in retail.

 

Competitive Edge can recommend one or more graphic artist who can assist with label design, marketing materials, packaging ideas and more. Quite often, these ideas turn ordinary products into attractive packages that retailers are then willing to accept on their shelves. The difference between a successful advertising infomercial or print ad can often be a line, a phrase or even the same text in a different order or context. Small changes. Subtle adjustments.

 

Competitive Edge and its network of vendor partners have worked on literally hundreds of TV Infomercials, MultiMercials and Commercials and can offer a different perspective on moving a stalled or unsuccessful show forward. Often, our MultiMercial clients did not succeed with their long form infomercial, but still need to be on television to drive retail sales. We take their show, look at existing footage and either offer to re-edit their 30 minute show or create a new 8+ minute MultiMercial for a different campaign.

 

Regardless of the type of media, be it a TV commercial, print ad or email blast creative, Competitive Edge will examine and make recommendations for your marketing campaign.

MEDIA / INVENTORY FUNDING

Being on Television takes money – lots of money.

 

Money to develop the commercial/infomercial and website. Money for inventory and to setup administrative services like telemarketing and fulfillment. Money for media and more. For most of our clients, they realize the risk and reward of a successful product and have a good investment budget, but know that if there show is as successful as they hope, they may need supplementary capital. Capital to expand the media budget quickly to beat knockoff competitors to the punch or fund additional inventory or provide working capital while the remaining payments are collected from a multi-pay offer (3 payments of $49.95, for example).

 

Competitive Edge has money sources that will lend monies (usually without a personal guarantee) to fund the expansion of an infomercial, both for media and inventory. Here is how it works: The business/entrepreneurs create an infomercial with their own capital, pays for setup costs and the initial media test budget. The show then airs and the results are known and analyzed. If the show meets the minimum performance level as measured by MER (Media Efficiency Ratio – Total Sales/Total Media Spend), then the funds can be in most cases acquired for the expansion of the show’s media budget. Or in other cases, the show is successful but because the offer calls for three payments, which delay collection of all of the proceeds of the product sales, media funding can provide the bridge capital to continue airing the infomercial until the three payments are collected, and then that money is cycled.

 

For Media Funding, the process is as simple as:

  1. Purchase the Media and Submit the Invoice for Payment;
  2. The invoice is paid to CEMM, which pays the stations.
  3. Invoice is sent to client for financing costs.
  4. Shows air and money is collected through the merchant account.
  5. Monies lent are returned to funding source and balance of proceeds are held by client.
